Holiday Golf was founded in Salt Lake City in 1990 by Robert
Kirk, a degreed electrical engineer specializing in electronics.
He had a vision that golf simulators could be a great, state of
the art business and set to work creating our first indoor golf
simulator.
Early in the product development, a choice had to be made whether
to use real golf course pictures or to use computer generated
golf course images. It was decided to use real golf course pictures
because at the time, picture detail was much superior to computer
generated images. With real pictures taken of each golf course,
we wanted the golfer to get the most realistic feeling of actually
playing golf outdoors. The golf courses we offer are resort courses
that are fun to play, are unique from hole to hole, and offer
risk/reward choices.
In the beginning in 1990, the software programming was done
with an Amiga computer. This computer offered 4096 colors, which
at that time greatly eclipsed the PC which had only 256 colors.
In 1995, the System 4™ Simulator was converted to the PC
computer which offered 640 x 480 resolution at 16 million color
capability. Today, up to 1280 x 1024 32 bit high definition color
capability is available.
In the early stages, Holiday Golf utilized a swing analyzer
from a third party, but found that it had limitations. This lead
to the development of the first version of the True Flight™
Swing Analyzer in 1994. This swing analyzer has proven to out
perform other swing analyzers in both accuracy and reliability.
In 1998, Holiday Golf developed our onscreen putting feature
which has details not offered on other golf simulators. Our Swing
Graphics display feature was added in 1999, and nine golf courses
were available for play that year. As of early 2008, 19 real picture
golf courses are available with new courses coming soon. In 2006,
to complement the real photo golf courses we offer, we added a
computer generated golf course package with over 80 available
courses.
A touch screen feature was added in 2005, improved graphical
menus added in 2006 and launch angle detection was added with
the inclusion of the True Flight™ Sensor in 2007.
Many countless hours of design, engineering and continuing development
has made Holiday Golf one of the top golf simulator companies
in the world. We take pride in our customer service and strive
to make sure that every customer is pleased with our product.
That is why we offer a full 2 year warranty and 24/7 technical
